Temples and birthdays

     Happy Birthday to our Emma!

11 years and counting...  We're so proud of who she is.

Speaking of Emma's birthday... 2 yrs. ago on her birthday they broke ground for the Brigham City Temple. We were lucky enough to be there for that.

Afterwards they let all the kids come up and turn over a shovelful of dirt.

It was a really cool experience.  Since then we've enjoyed driving by weekly and watching the progress.

And then we were there when they were to put the statue Moroni on top. Sadly, we didn't quite see it happen. Story here

The picture below shows the sycamore trees that once blocked the temple view. They have since cut down six trees. Some people were upset, but you cannot even notice a difference. The only difference is that you can actually see the temple.

And finally my favorite picture of the temple so far

The clouds were just right that night.

Last night we walked around the temple grounds and it was so neat. I've driven by hundreds of times over the past 2 years, but there is nothing like being there.  As you walk around you can feel a beautiful spirit.

Come see the temple!

The temple is done and the open house goes from Aug. 18th 'til Sep 15th.
You can reserve tickets here

And don't forget to drop by and see us while you're here.

Oh, and while you're in town, go see a play. Emma is in "Willy Wonka" at the Heritage Theatre.
More information on that here

She is an oompa loompa and has been practicing all summer.  She's having a blast.
