Spring Break

We really had a good time this Spring break.  Aaron had the entire week off and we found some fun things to do. Following are some of our pictures of the week.

We kicked off the week with General Conference. This event is such a blessing in our lives.  We love to sleep when the prophet is speaking....just kidding. Lindsey actually listened really good this time and I was so proud of her. We heard so many good messages that I'd love to blog about. Maybe another day.

My mom's annual brunch/Easter egg hunt is always a hit. The old cars, old buildings, old farm equipment and miles of weeds and scrap metal make great places to hide eggs.

Every year without fail there is someone upset over not finding the "golden" egg which is sure to contain cash. Last year that person was in our family.
Isn't this a hilarious picture of the kids and their cousins? Penny, the youngest did not want to stay in the picture so my sister did her best to hold her there while we all laughed. It was good timing for some comic relief.
One year when there weren't any grandkids yet -maybe one- and we were all too old to find Easter eggs my mom hid one gold egg for us adults.  We looked high and low all around my dad's barnyard and finally in the end after my mom had to give us a hint we found it hidden in the wheel of an old truck. Aaron and my sister Holly went in for the grab as I remember it and Aaron came up with the egg. Little did we know that the egg contained 50 bucks and boy did we need 50 bucks!!! What a nice mom!

Here we are at one of our favorite parks. This might be Brooke's first swing at the park.

We visited Baby Animal Days and had such a great time. Because of the amount of people there we really didn't see too many baby animals. There were lines all over the place to see them so we stuck to the less popular, but maybe equally as fun activities.

Lindsey and I on the wagon ride that was really fun. Lindsey had her hat on backwards all day and kept saying, "Yo!"  I asked Aaron where she came from and he said, "She's just like you." and I told him he was probably right.

Christian easily turned down an opportunity to do Muttin' Bustin', but thought pole climbing sounded like fun so that's what he did.

The last time we visited Baby Animal Days was five years ago. At that time I took a picture of the girls on the fence with the pretty snowcapped mountains in the background. I remembered that picture and recreated it this year to see how the girls have changed. Here are the two pictures, 2007 and 2012

This is our Easter walk through the orchard. We thought it would be so neat to walk among the pretty trees, but soon discovered that it came with a price: stickers poking through our thin flip flops and bees buzzing in our ears.  It was great fun.

And finally for F.H.E we had a cookout in the canyon. Brooke enjoyed eating branches and the kids played amongst the trees and stream. So many good memories made!
