We had a lot of fun watching Christian "rake" the front driveway one night recently. Too bad he didn't think of this one last year when his teacher asked the kids to come up with inventions. He didn't have any ideas then.
Lately he and his friends have been tying a rope to the back of their bikes and pulling each other on skateboards. Did you ever do that as a kid? So fun.
Christian had the time of his life sitting in his Grandpa Wilson's swather cutting hay last week. Unfortunately it's probably the last cut of the summer so he'll have to wait until next year to do it again.
On another occasion he got to work with his Grandpa Wolthuis in his yard. After the work was done he taught Christian how to shoot a pellet gun? I think that was it. Christian's favorite part was blowing up a tomato. He is so lucky to have so many good male role models in his life. He needs that influence since the only other people around here are girls who don't understand him or appreciate his uniqueness.
Christian is growing up and getting cuter all the time. I love my brown-eyed boy.

hey Nik! What a cute boy, and inventive too. I love your pics of his bike rake, it reminds me of our carefree childhood days of riding bikes in the valley. Hope you guys are all doing well. I was going to call you today then i realized that it was probably about the time your kids get home from school, so i didn't...but i've been thinking of you!
